FOS is scouting's annual fund raising campaign that helps raise the necessary dollars to support the many programs of the Sam Houston Area Council. All units are asked to schedule their annual FOS presentations during the month of December for 2005. The presentations can occur during your Blue & Gold banquet, Spring Court of Honors, or any pack meeting. If your company is listed as a scout donor, please fill out the information so that your contribution can be matched by your company! All donations are tax deductible!

District Roundtable
Roundtable is your monthly meeting to learn new things and meet fellow scouters! Need ideas to plan your next month’s meeting or keep your dens/troops entertained. Join us at our monthly roundtable and you will learn many exciting new ideas to take back to your pack/troop/crew. Let us make your planning easier, fun, and organized.
You will receive all the latest council and district information. Feel free to bring a friend to the meeting. Attendees do not need to be registered leaders. Anyone can attend. Rising Star’s roundtables which are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at the LDS West Road building beginning at 7 pm.

Online Rechartering
Rising Star District annual re-chartering is in the months of December, January, and February.
This year, our re-chartering process will be online. It’s easier, faster, and less prone to errors. For example, the system will not allow a unit to re-charter or process without the necessary items (required positions, proper names and social security number). The fees are automatically calculated for you so you don’t have be concerned with adding up the fees once your re-charter is completed.
Rechartering your unit on time is one of the requirements for earning the quality unit award. Let’s all work together toward earning the quality district award also by having all of our units earn the quality unit award and re-chartering on time!
